“The night wakings stopped and I can't thank Anita enough!"
I contacted Anita for help with my 4 year old daughters sleep. From birth she had never been the best sleeper and was constantly waking in the night for hours on end. Once awake we would have to stay in her room to avoid screaming and tantrums in the middle of the night, none of us were getting sleep. When her baby sister arrived this got worse and it was a daily occurrence. We were all exhausted and my daughter hated staying in her room alone. Anita was able to guide us and give us strategies to put in place to help our daughter settle herself back to sleep without so much intervention from us, the night wakings seem to have stopped and i cant thank Anita enough! We are all a lot more rested now!

Getting enough sleep is crucial for your child's brain development, but supporting them to establish good sleep habits might seem challenging. Let's work together to ensure your child (and the rest of your family) can experience the best possible sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Okay, so let’s talk about sleep “training.” It’s got this reputation of leaving your kiddo all alone, crying their eyes out forever. Not exactly the warm and fuzzy image, right?
I prefer to see it as sleep teaching. We’re basically giving your little one the skills to snooze on their own and letting them know they’re safe. My methods are all about slowly getting your kiddo to snooze independently.
Now, let’s be real, there might be some crying. It’s like their way of saying, “Hey, I’m not loving this sleep setup!” But it’s not about fear or pain; it’s just a protest. Once they get used to their crib or bed and catch up on some z’s, the crying usually calms down pretty quick.
I’m here to team up with you, pick a sleep learning method that suits your family vibes, and hook you up with the tools to make it work like a charm.
Quality sleep is crucial for your child’s growth and development. Sleep consulting can help establish healthy sleep habits, leading to improved mood, behavior, and cognitive functioning.
Every child is unique, but typically, positive changes can be observed within 1-2 weeks of implementing the recommended sleep strategies. Consistency is key to achieving sustainable results.
My approach is tailored to the specific needs of each child and family. I combine evidence-based methods with compassionate guidance to create a customized sleep plan that suits your child’s individual sleep challenges.
Yes! I’m helping families worldwide getting the rest they need (and deserve!)
According to Riley Children’s Health at Indiana University Health, there’s this growing body of research that says letting your baby cry a bit while learning to fall asleep on their own isn’t harmful. It doesn’t mess with the parent-child bond or cause emotional issues down the road.
In a recent Pediatrics study with 43 sets of parents and babies, they split into three groups. One group skipped sleep learning, another tinkered with bedtime to find the sweet spot, and the third went for the graduated extinction method – you know, letting the baby cry a bit, checking on them, and gradually increasing the time between checks.
They measured stress levels in the babies by checking their saliva for cortisol, the stress hormone. Turns out, the sleep-learned babies had slightly lower cortisol levels. Less stress and anxiety, you know? Plus, those babies fell asleep faster and didn’t wake up as much at night.
But, what about the long haul? Did letting them cry mess up their emotional health or affect our tight bond? Nope. After a year, the study found no difference among the groups in the kiddos’ emotional and behavioral health or in the parent-child attachment.
This is pretty reassuring stuff, right? It’s one reason I’m all about what I do! There’s a lot of confusion about sleep learning methods, and it’s not one-size-fits-all. That’s why teaming up with a certified pediatric sleep consultant, like me, is crucial. Leaving your little one alone for hours to cry isn’t recommended, safe, or good for anyone’s stress levels. I work closely with each family, figuring out the best method for their kiddo’s personality and coaching them through it with as little crying as possible.
